Gallery weekend in Berlin

I went to see our friend Petzi's show at Jarmuschek&Partner.

At another exhibition I was very happy to be able to purchase a drawing by Pauline Kraneis.
In 2003 I took over her studio on Schwedter Str. (now Café Niesen is in those former rooms of ours). Pauline already used to work with the pattern of the floor of 'our' studio then. The work I bought is an A4 drawing of a green carpet. I love it.
The exhibition where I found Pauline's work between another 100 or so drawings was called Anonyme Zeichner, the artworks were chosen and hung without indication of the name of the artist. They were all  sold for 150 Euro. Otherwise I wouldn't have been able to afford a drawing of Pauline, usually she is showing her works at Galerie Fricke.
and I tell you I RAN there to become the proud owner of it.
Right now it's being framed and I can't wait for it to come back.
Sorry for the red tint in the picture, it is white paper of course. I will try to upload another one when I get it back.

update: the framed Pauline Kraneis work

I also saw Philip-Lorca diCorcia's 'Hustlers' at Sprüth Magers. In New York I used to work with his former wife Noemi diCorcia, now Noemi Bonazzi. I spent a lot of time at their beautiful loft on Hudson Street and I remember this time as very special. Noemi, Jocelyne and Anna (all 3 set designers, prop stylists and producers) were something like family for me in this big city New York. I posted some of the works I've done with theme here.
Anyways the show is great, as all of Philip-Lorca diCorcia's work. Definitely a must see.

What I also found interesting was another photo exhibition at CWC Gallery: Jimmy Nelson 'Before they pass away'.
The photographer travelled the world to photograph tribes in Africa, Papua NewGuinea, Mongolia and many more. Absolutely impressive, especially in this size.
