certain things don't get mentioned in a catalog text

What I felt worth writing about is the latest development of my works from being purely abstract towards some elements of representation again.
Last summer I was working on a series of smaller works on papers named 'number 1' to 'number 5'. They were strictly geometrical, inspired solely by the colors of the silken tissue papers I had collected in the studio. I had layed out some pieces of paper together on the table and liked how the colors worked together. I glued forms of different sizes onto watercolor paper.
Below are number 2, number 4 and number 3.

While browsing instagram a little while later I came across a post by someone using David Hockney's 'big splash' to say that he's off to vacation. I saw this well known image and immediately thought: wow, the structure and the colors of the image are so similar to the little paperworks I had just been doing. I decided to use his composition for one of my collages, without the 'living' elements. No water splash, no trees, no chair, simply the geometric structure of this classic of art history.

I made a small one first 32 x 32:

Later I wanted to see it big and worked on a 109 x 110 cm one:

After that I thought I'd look at more art that I like and see if I could translate it to my own visual language.

I continued with a Turner.
The first one was 'Arth am See' on the cover of my William Turner watercolor book.

Followed by 'Luzern by moonlight'.

I'm working on 'Vierwaldstättersee':

and recently I started to work on this one, 'The Red Rigi':

I'm excited for this new path and can't wait to work on some really big ones. I just ordered new papers in England.
For those who haven't seen those works for real, I am only working with tissue papers which are used for wrapping usually. No more paint, only papers and glue. It looks simple, but is so much work to cut them, to get the right shapes, to get the desired effect, to glue them without forgetting an inch of glue on the canvas, otherwise there will be air bubbles. It takes me several weeks to months to complete one work.
